Rapid Antigen COVID-19 Test – Get Your Result in 15 Minutes

- MTM Pharmacy offers Rapid Antigen Covid-19 Test that utilizes mid nasal swabbing technique for a less invasive experience for clients and patients at an affordable cost.
- They are intended for people with COVID-19’s symptoms, or people who have been exposed to a confirmed COVID case.
- Rapid antigen tests are most reliable when people are in the early stages of COVID-19, when the viral load is highest in your throat and nasal passages

- Rapid tests measure viral antigens, which are substances that tell your body to produce an immune response to an infection.
- Rapid antigen tests are most reliable when people are in the early stages of COVID-19, when the viral load is highest in your throat and nasal passages. You may not experience symptoms at that stage, but you are still contagious and can spread the virus to others.
- Repeated rapid antigen testing can help because the amount of virus in your nose and throat can increase enough within hours so that you can test positive after one or more negative tests. A positive rapid antigen test result means you most likely have COVID-19. A molecular test (PCR) can confirm the diagnosis.
PCR MOLECULAR COVID-19 Test – Get Your Result in 48-72 hours

- A PCR test is the most accurate and reliable test to diagnose the current infection for COVID-19; generally seen as the “gold standard” test. A PCR test is conducted either by nasal swab; it requires insertion of a swab into your nose and the back of your throat.

- The test detects the presence of a virus if you are infected at the time of the test. The “test could also detect fragments of virus even after you are no longer infected”
- “PCR is a technique that is used to amplify trace amounts of DNA (and in some instances, RNA) located in or on almost any liquid or surface where DNA strands may be deposited. The key to understanding PCR is to know that every human, animal, plant, parasite, bacterium, or virus contains genetic material such as DNA (or RNA) sequences (nucleotide sequences or pieces of DNA or RNA) that are unique to their species, and to the individual member of that species. Consequently, if a sample contains segments of DNA or RNA, PCR is a method used to amplify (make many more identical copies) of these unique sequences so they can then be used to determine with a very high probability the identity of the source (a specific person, animal, or pathogenic organism) of the trace DNA or RNA found in or on almost any sample of material.”
Antibody COVID-19 Test – Get Your Result in 15 Minutes

- An antibody test, also known as the serology test, is a screening for antibodies in your blood. Your body makes these when it fights an infection, like COVID-19. This test can tell you whether you had a prior COVID infection.
- A technician will take a bit of your blood, like through a finger prick. The test looks for one or both kinds of antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19:
- IgM antibodies, which happen early in an infection
- IgG antibodies, which are more likely to show up later
- If you think you might have come into contact with the coronavirus, or if you’ve tested positive for COVID-19 and have fully recovered, you can probably get tested for antibodies.

- Antibodies can take several days or weeks to develop after you have an infection and may stay in your blood for several weeks or more after recovery. Because of this, antibody tests should not be used to diagnose COVID-19.

The FDA cautions patients against using the results from any serology test as an indication that they can stop taking steps to protect themselves and others, such as stopping social distancing or discontinuing wearing masks.”
